With the world now well into March, the northern hemisphere is thawing out as everyone looks forward to the summer. The craziness that is fashion month is dying down and everyone is making the most out of the warmer days that tease of summer. Spring is one of my favourite times of the year, and not just because we get to see some amazing spring street style. Normally I would be looking enviously upon the northern hemisphere from my home down-under as we transition into winter. However, Australia shows no sign of cooling down for the winter anytime soon.
I shot this street style look on a recent trip to Melbourne. It is my take on style for the seasonal transition. So whether you’re experiencing teasers of the warm summer days to come, or making the most of the last of them before winter, this is my spring street style.
MY SPRING STREET STYLE ESSENTIALS
Sunglasses are the best warm-weather fashion accessory! Make the most of the sun and finish off your style with a pair of trendy shades. Unique shapes and colours are trending at the moment and are such an easy way to add a unique edge to an outfit. These ones are from Quay Australia.
The changing of the seasons means that the weather can be unpredictable. A sleeveless blazer is the ultimate outerwear item for those days when the sun can’t quite work out if it wants to come out or not. You won’t overheat, but you’ll stay toasty during those sudden cold-snaps! This one is from Topshop TALL.
Not specific to spring, but a bucket bag adds an air of casual cool- which I believe defines the genre of street style. Not to mention they hold all matter of essential (or not!) items. This Seed Heritage bag is my go to, as it is black, I can pair it with almost any outfit.
